Troubleshooting Tips for the Digital Mystery and Quest Games

Are you or your students experiencing technical difficulties with any of my Digital Math Mystery, Math Quest, or Junior Reading Mystery games? Here are some common troubleshooting tips that usually resolve most tech problems running the games.

If the digital game isn't working, please try the steps below to see if that resolves the issue. 

A quick fix usually is to clear your Internet Browsing history and cache. To do this on Google Chrome:

1. On your computer, open Chrome.
2. At the top right, click More .
3. Click History. 
4. On the left, click Clear browsing data.
5. From the drop-down menu, select how much history you want to delete.
6. Check the boxes for the info you want Chrome to clear, including “browsing history." 
7. Click Clear data.

Sometimes the fix is as simple as changing your Internet browser. Google Chrome seems to cause the least issues when running these educational games. You can download the Google Chrome extension <here> if you don't already have it installed.

If you have a cookie blocker, or have not allowed them, then the games won't work. To enable cookies, follow the steps below:
>> In Google Chrome browser, click the : symbol at the top of the window
>> Go to settings
>> Click advanced
>> Select cookies 
>> Choose to allow cookies

Chromebooks have different settings in place and sometimes block these games from running. The first thing to check if you do experience issues running the game on Chromebook is to  check your settings/filters to give permission to allow the links. If this doesn't work, then try the steps below:
You can allow or block permissions for a specific site. The site will use its settings instead of the default settings. You can also clear data for a site.

1. On your computer, open Chrome .
2. Go to a website.
3. To the left of the web address, click the icon you see: Lock , Info , or Dangerous
4. Click Site settings.
5. Change a permission setting. Your changes will automatically save.
