MEGA LIST OF FUN AND EDCUATIONAL Activities to do during Lockdown

Are you currently in lockdown and scratching your head with what to do today with your kids? We are currently in our second lockdown, and this time I thought I'd share some activities and ideas with you. Bookmark for those days you quickly need a fun idea that is also educational. I've placed some links for where to find certain items, resources, or instructions too. If you have any ideas, share them in the comments section to add to this list!

1. Drawing (Use step by step books or YouTube Videos)
2. Write a story (find free writing prompt resources here).
3. Lego Building Activities
4. Play-Doh (practice shapes, forming letters, or creative play.)
5. Science Kits (heaps available online. Science Wiz sells some great kits for all ages).
6. Makekindness rocks
7. Cool Math Games online 
8. Create a board game, write rules and instructions to play. 
9. Easy to set up Math Projects
10. Play shop (can use sets or find items around the house to use) to practice math, money, and financial literacy skills. Melissa and Doug have some amazing sets. 
11. Read lots of books (create a cute and comfortable reading nook).

22. Practice ball skills - catching, throwing, kicking, shooting hoops

29. Turn into a detective and solve Junior Reading Mysteries, Once Upon a Crime Reading Mysteries & Private Eye CSI Literacy Mysteries.
30. Role Play: Restaurants, Shops, Hospitals, Hotels, Zoos, Farms, etc
31. Create a potion. Grab a bunch of ingredients (some food dye with water is great) found around the home and backward. Grab some measuring utensils and let the kids explore.

39. Hangman - great for practicing spelling
40. Use recyclable materials and other items around the house to build a theme park.

42. Keepy Uppy (If you watch Bluey you'll know this one!) - Try and see how long you can keep a balloon bouncing into the air without it touching the floor. 
43. I Spy with my Little Eye something beginning with the letter/color .... 
44. Backyard Picnic - Kids can help prepare and set up 
45. Card Games - Snap, Memory, etc
46. Scattegories 
47. Create Trivia Cards on topics of interest. Then  use for a family game night. 
48. Create an escape room
49. Develop a code and then create secret messages
50. Simon Says - great way to use with exercise moves to do!
51. Spelling Games online 
52. Set up a Movie Theatre - create a Movie choice board, make tickets and posters, make popcorn and snacks, set up seating, then pick a movie to watch. 
53. Set up your own Gaming  Arcade - Use items to create arcade style games e.g. bowling with empty plastic bottles, throw balls in a hoop, etc.
54. Research how things are made.
