Students must use critical thinking skills to figure out what the clue is telling them to eliminate from the list of possibilities. There are five clues to solve the mystery:

• Clue 1: Applying Number Pattern Rules (involving multiplication, addition & subtraction)
• Clue 2: Growing Patterns (find the rule, addition)
• Clue 3: Geometric Patterns (Multiplication skills required; calculator use may be needed depending on student ability)
• Clue 4: Input/Output Tables (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
• Clue 5: Time Patterns
