Grab your bucket and spade! Being able to quickly Double and Halve numbers is a mental math superpower. It makes multiplication facts infinitely easier and gives students a huge head start when learning fractions and division.

In this game, you are digging up the beach looking for rare shells. When you find one, you must correctly double or halve the number printed on it to keep it for your collection!

How to Play:

1. Select Your Dig Site: Use the dropdown menu to choose your level. Level 1 starts with doubling small numbers (1 to 5). Level 3 challenges you with multiples of 5 (like 15, 25, 35), and Level 4 flips the script and asks you to Halve even numbers!

2. Dig in the Sand: Click on any of the sandy mounds on the 3×3 grid to start digging.

3. Solve the Prompt: A shell will appear with a number on it. Read the prompt closely—it will ask you to either “Double the number!” or “Halve the number!”.

4. Keep the Shell! Type the correct answer into the box. If you are right, the shell goes straight into your bucket. If you miss it, the sand covers it back up, and you’ll have to dig again later!
