Description
New Update: Beyond the fun of matching, each card includes the vehicle’s name (e.g., “Ambulance,” “Submarine,” “Helicopter”) to help with word recognition, reading, and spelling. It is a fantastic way to support a classroom unit on Community Helpers or Things That Go.
Tip: I keep these in a Ziplock bag in the car—it’s a great way to keep kids occupied during long trips or appointments!
This matching game features 18 pairs of fun illustrated cards. The premise is simple—matching pairs of cards—but it’s surprisingly addictive and challenging. This game is perfect for students of all ages; younger kids love the bright colors, while older students can challenge themselves to match the words.
How to Play
-
Shuffle the cards and lay them face-down on a flat surface.
-
Players take turns flipping over two cards, aiming to remember their positions to find matching pairs.
-
The game continues until all pairs are matched!
(Bonus Way to Play: We often use these cards to play the card game “Snap” or use them as flashcards for a writing center!)
Resource Preparation
-
Print the 36 cards included in this download.
-
Cut the cards out.
-
Shuffle and place face down.
-
Suggestion: If you plan on using these game cards often, I recommend laminating them or printing on card stock for durability.
