There are five clues to solve the mystery, each focusing on core 5th-grade algebraic standards:

• Clue 1: Solve Equations with Addition
• Clue 2: Solve Equations with Subtraction
• Clue 3: Solve Equations with Multiplication
• Clue 4: Solve Mixed Equations (Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication)
• Clue 5: Solve Equations with Division

Students must also use critical thinking and deductive reasoning to figure out what each clue is telling them to eliminate from the suspect list.
