This new free math worksheet generator allows you to create customized, differentiated “Crack the Code” math worksheets instantly.
The best part? You do not need a login, a password, or any special software to use it. You simply select your options right here in your browser, and the computer does all the math, formatting, and letter-mapping for you!
Creating differentiated puzzles is as easy as 1, 2, 3:
1. Choose Your Math Skill
Use the first drop-down menu to select the exact math skill your students are working on. With options ranging from basic addition to 20 all the way up to dividing decimals, you can easily print different levels for different math groups!
2. Select a Secret Message
Use the second drop-down menu to pick a positive mindset message, a Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) quote, or a specific Bible verse that fits your classroom goals or theme of the week.
3. Generate & Print Click “Generate Worksheet!” to preview your puzzle, then hit the green Print button. The website automatically hides all the extra menus and buttons, giving you a perfectly clean, ink-friendly worksheet.
Because the generator creates thousands of unique number combinations every time you use it, a separate answer key isn’t included. However, the beauty of this activity is that it is completely self-checking!
If the secret message reveals correctly and makes sense, you and your students instantly know the math is 100% correct. It is the perfect independent activity for fast finishers.
💡 Printing Pro-Tip: To save paper and ink, make sure your printer is set to print “Pages: 1” (or “Current Page”) rather than “All Pages”. Because this is a web-based tool, some browsers will try to print the invisible website space at the bottom of the page, which can result in a few extra blank pages. (Though they do make great scratch paper for your students’ math working out!)
