Over the past few months, I’ve been enjoying collecting thematic videos to go with holidays and seasons! It helps keep the brain breaks fresh and keeps the holiday spirit alive in the classroom.
Below you will find a collection of five St Patrick’s Day themed brain breaks for the classroom. Some are dances (a mix of simple and hard), others are a song/story to just watch and listen too. Even though some of the Irish dance moves are a bit tricky for those a bit uncoordinated (hand raised), the idea is to just get up and try join in with the music. I find these create lots of laughs and giggles as students try to do the dances too. With a mix of content suitable for young and older students, I hope you find at least one video that will work for your class. The last one with Hula Hoops might have to be done with pretend hula hoops, unless you have a large space available to attempt that dance in.

You can also use this video on its own as a writing prompt and students can create their own story about their adventure as a detective solving the case.
