7 SUPER-FOOD SNACK IDEAS FOR THE LUNCHBOX!




#1  Protein Balls: Check out this awesome protein ball recipe! Make them in advance for the week and carry them in a zip lock back for school. This is the best for when you need that little pick-me-up!  

​I noticed that eating these types of foods became a habit of mine. This  caused my energy levels to crash and left me feeling worse than before!

But it doesn’t have to be this way! Super-foods are all the craze at the moment! The internet has tonnes of quick recipe and snack ideas for a busy lifestyle. Check out these seven superfood snacks for your teacher lunchbox!

Granola Bars
If your school has a nut-free policy, check out this awesome nut free granola bar recipe. At least you can have the comfort of knowing that you can have a snack in the classroom without the risk of causing any allergic reactions. It only takes 20 minutes to make in advance and will last you several school days!

Trail Mixes: How about putting together a healthy trail mix? This doesn’t even require any food prep. Just get a few packets of your favourite nuts, dried fruits and seeds and throw together in one zip lock bag that will carry you on through the whole day!  


​#4 Savoury Muffins
: For the savoury lovers out there, try these awesome pumpkin and fetta frittatas. This recipe makes 12 and will be an excellent addition to your teacher lunch box.. Prep a whole bunch and freeze them! 

​#5 Mason Jar Meals: I don’t care if it’s a hipster thing! I am getting on the Mason Jar bandwagon! There are so many things you can do with this and it’s perfect for on the go teachers to experiment with different salad and stir fry meals.
Make sure to use a jar that is air tight to avoid any leaky spills in your handbag! Otherwise your students are going to be wondering why their graded papers smell like balsamic! 

#6 Grab & Go Foods: Get creative with quick grab and go foods! Grapes, berries, chopped cucumber and carrots! There is an endless list of healthy and vibrant snacks where the most you’ll have to do is chop and pack!  Check out the linked image for ideas on adding a bit of colour to your lunch box! 

#7 Oat & Chia Bowls: Chia and Oat bowls are amazing! Served hot or cold, they are such a great way to kick start the day and are super quick to make! The linked recipe is just one suggestion of how to make it. The basic ingredients are oats, chia seeds and almond milk. Any fruits, sweeteners and nut butters of your choice can be added.

You can also take to work with you by  putting all dry ingredients in a container. Once at school just add milk and microwave. Now you can spend your winter days at your desk with a nice bowl of hot porridge!
