Count with Money (US Currency) Interactive Resource by Gynzy.
Below you will find an easy to use money resource, that you can easily set to full screen on your SmartBoard and begin to use in the classroom.
Simple to Use
Move the coins and notes to the board, then select Total (bottom right corner) to see how much money has been placed on the board.
There are so many ways you could use this resource with your students. Here are just a few suggestions:
Invite students to explore how many different ways they can make $1.00. They can experiment with moving the coins onto the board and then selecting "total" to check if they made exactly $1.00. Students then record the different ways they can make a dollar into their notebooks (either by drawing the coins or writing the coin value amounts in a bubble).
Same activity as above, but set harder amounts e.g. how many ways to make $10, $100, $1,000 . . . etc
Use this interactive to demonstrate a visual to money problems. E.g. If you give a $10.00 note to pay for something that costs $1.00, how much change should you receive (invite students to make the change, or demonstrate how much change they should receive).
Play a challenging money game: Set the goal of $1,000! Each student comes out to add one coin or note to the board. The goal is to be the person to finally make it to $1,000 exactly! Students may adopt interesting strategies to keep the game going so that they have a chance to do the final move to $1,000 and win. Change the final amount to play another game. This is a great closing activity if you have some time to spare at the end of a lesson.
I'd also love to hear how you would use this resource in your classroom. Please feel free to share a comment with everyone any ideas you have. :)
