- Watch the first 45 seconds of the video clip. Pause when the bottle label is presented and the students can clearly see the message where it says 'pay later'. Discuss with students what they think this could mean. Instruct them to continue the story from that point using their own imagination about what could happen if the musician decided to drink the elixir. Students share their versions, then could watch the rest of the video to see how it plays out. Carry out a discussion to compare and contrast the differences between their stories and the video clip.
- Students write a recount of the story in their own words.
- Students discuss and write what the moral of the story is. Instruct students to create their own short story with the message that 'shortcuts to fame (or any achievement) is not the same as putting in the hard yards.'
- Students write a short piece that gives more information about the character dressed in purple. They will need to use their imagination as to who he is, where he is from and why he is offering the elixir to the musician.
